AI-made music
Demo Jail is for bands playing their own songs, so genre radio, local radio and the charts are human-made only. AI-made songs are still welcome; they just live in their own lane.
What counts as AI-made
- AI generated the music (the song itself or most of the instrumental).
- AI generated the vocal performance (an AI singer or a cloned voice).
Using AI as a tool is fine and doesn't count: AI drums or loops in a song you wrote and played, effects, stem separation, mixing or mastering helpers.
Where AI-made songs play
- Your band page, band radio, listeners' favs, show lineups and mixtapes.
- Not on genre radio, local radio or the charts (AI stations and charts may come later).
The upload check
Uploads may get a quick automated check. If a song you didn't mark as AI-made sounds clearly AI-generated, it's saved as a draft and we ask you:
- Mark as AI-made: it's published in the AI lane right away.
- It's human-made: the upload is removed. Email the file to review@demojail.com with a short note on how it was made (a demo, stems or a session photo help) and we'll add it for you.
No strikes, no penalties. Detectors make mistakes, and we'd rather sort it out with you.
