Finkelsteen

Finkelsteen is an independent rock band born out of the vibrant local music scene of Knoxville, Tennessee. Bringing together a seasoned lineup of regional veteran musicians—Todd Ethridge (vocals/guitar), Manning Jenkins (guitar/vocals), Chuck Getsi (bass/vocals), and Joel Stooksbury (drums/vocals/production)—the group delivers a powerful, authentic brand of original rock and roll. The band's pedigree runs deep through local music history, tracing back to several of Knoxville's most notable alternative and heavy rock projects of the '90s. Guitarist Manning Jenkins was a core member of Hypertribe, a high-energy heavy alternative powerhouse that built a massive regional following. Meanwhile, drummer Joel Stooksbury brings a prominent legacy to the rhythm section from his time in Immortal Chorus—one of Knoxville's premier goth rock/alternative acts—as well as the dark alternative outfit Soundtrack Black. The band's shared history also intertwines with the heavy, melodic grooves of Sandbox, another staple of the era's local scene. Blending these classic indie, metal, and alternative rock sensibilities, Finkelsteen forms a unique sonic identity rich with sharp musicianship and experience. Known for their melodic songwriting, rich vocal harmonies, and driving rhythm section, they have captured their signature, homegrown sound on dynamic independent tracks like "Rewind" and "'76."
